I put on my Pink Colored Glasses and visited…….

Locations from The Princess Diaries movie.

The Princess Diaries is my absolute favorite movie. From the message, to the acting, to the music it’s truly a perfect movie! It’s a 10/10 movie, no notes. I remember getting the movie on VHS for Christmas and watching it everyday. I can quote parts of the movie and if you’ve ever watched it with me you know that I do.

The message of the movie is something that has stuck with me my entire life. Whenever I watch the “How many stupid times a day I use the word ‘I’?” speech I tear up. It’s a great reminder that our gifts and talents aren’t just for us, but to help other people.

When I decided to visit my friend in San Francisco and she suggested we visit The Princess Diaries I said yes immediately.

We visited three of The Princess Diaries locations:

  • Grove High School:

Address: 2601 Lyons

Just an fyi it is actually someone’s house so you can only stand on the sidewalk.

  • Musee Mecanique:

This is an arcade in a warehouse type museum. The arcade is free, but the old timey machines take quarters. It was so fun. This place is the scene where the queen and Mia arm wrestled that machine. Let me tell you it was hard. This is also where they do the photobooth. The photobooth is old and the flash comes out of nowhere. It does take about 5 minutes to print.

  • Mia’s house:

Address: 724 Brazil Avenue

This is also someone’s house. We ran into a sweet lady who was friends with the owners. Everyone we ran into was so kind.

  • The Painted Ladies:

This is an iconic San Francisco location. It’s mentioned and viewed on many tv shows and movies. They are a row of beautiful painted houses in a Victorian style. They look similar to row houses in Washington, DC.
